As the titles states, I am currently in a high of life moments right now. I have been gone for a while and unfortunately my website and blog have suffered because of it. But this is all for good reason because now I can share with all of you what has been happening since I brought in 2018!!
First let's start by discussing the most important topic, why I have not been posting. Well friends and other readers I have a confession/announcement to make about that problem. I put all my focus and time into joining the best organization around Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.!!! I was beyond excited when I got my letters and my 49 line sisters. Now I am basking in the glory that is greekdom. My best friend and play sister crossed the same day I did so we all have something that makes our friendships that more special. I have enjoyed the love and support I have received from friends and family during this time and I cannot wait to see where this lifetime journey takes me. I have already attended a banquet with a few of my line sisters where we all received important honors from our colleges and from the university overall. The ups and downs have been coming fast but I know with faith and trust myself and my sorors can overcome any obstacle and prevail.

As for the rest of my semester, it has been a fast track to graduation. Every week was something new, all the holidays and breaks were needed, and my sleep cycle hasn't suffered that much from all this. May 12 is quickly approaching (8 days to be exact) and I am currently finished with my exams and awaiting grades. I am in shock that these are my last days of schooling, it seems unreal. My friends and I have enjoyed all the last university parties and events that are traditional on campus and we are now all trying to spend our last moments together as much as possible. I had my last dance showcase last week (check out my Strange Fruit senior gift), went to my last organization banquet Sunday, decorated my cap. for graduation, took my graduation pictures and as I stated above finished all my classes and finals. I have done a lot more in this semester and I am honestly surprised and overjoyed by the opportunities and awards I have received. A few classes have been hard, but somehow I have brought myself back from the ditch I dug myself in freshmen year. In March I went on my last DSLS networking trip to Washington D.C., what a beautiful city and experience that was. I met some influential people and saw a different side of communications. Back at UTK, my internship at Knoxville Entrepreneur Center has been going full force and I honestly love it. I have learned so much about marketing for companies and how to properly build a following for companies. I now see why so many people say that communications is key in the workforce.
I did some cooking but it was put on hold due to my busy schedule. I was able to make fried chicken and country fried steak at one point, and I have my random home recipes every other day. Many people have made me home cooked meals and I've been fortunate enough to receive free food from a lot of gracious mentors and supporters in the city. Both times I cooked it was great, I'm always relaxed when I'm in the kitchen. I bought an 8-in-1 grill a month ago; can't wait to use it!! My kitchen is getting back to its former glory and soon I'll be in my own apartment hosting dinner parties for friends (lol wow I'm such an old woman). Outside of my house I have been eating at amazing local food places. There's something so rewarding and refreshing to authentic cuisine. That's one of the things I will miss most about Knoxville, the food. But any city I move to has its own unique food scene so that is a small step in the graduation path.
Now I am working towards finding a job and getting ready to start the summer on a fresh note. I have received an abundance of support and blessings, everyone has been adamant about reminding me that not having a job right after school is nothing to be discouraged about. My mom has been helping me look for job opportunities and I have taken it upon myself to gain some more skills in my field while I have free time on my hands. Well that's about as much as I can give you all, I know kind of dull for a five month check up. But I will do a special graduation blog because by then my emotions will have caught up with me and I will have more to express on the subject. Until then, I am happy to be back and hope you all enjoy the pictures!!
